Do you just listen ... or are you absolutely ushered into the presence of God listening to praise and worship music?

Or - does your Church even embrace this style of music?

Is your worship style loud and involved or quiet and "respectful?"

Ever read about the people around the throne in Heaven and what they are doing? Would you expect that to be "quiet and respectful" or "loud and involved?"

The point in all of this is to say that music is one of your most powerful Christian Church Marketing weapons to save the lost.

If you'll look inside your Bible, you'll quickly find the level of importance God puts on music, and also discover one super-star musician who got on God's "bad side" ... and what happened to him then ...

Then consider his effect on the "popular" music of today. What do you suppose is his mission through popular music? Ever given it any thought?

Ever wonder why the young people like to listen to their music so loud?

(Yes - even music is an awesome marketing tool you can use to attract people to your Church.)

It is also satan's main weapon he uses to keep people away.

Does music inspire you to come into the presence of God, and/or intrigue you enough to see the role of music throughout the Bible - and in your Church - and in your Christian Church Marketing?

Bless you -
Chip

Christian Church Marketing - Post 13 - "Cold"

.
Christian Church Marketing - Post 13 - "Cold"
.

I've had a miserable cold (my precious granddaughter gave me) for an entire week, and all the fun symptoms that go along with it. Think about what?

(Your story ...)

But first you have to arrest the current process running through a person's mind so he or she will pay attention to your story.

Here's a story my Dad sent me ... for your consideration:

"REFLECTIONS"

You know, time has a way of moving quickly and catching you unaware of the passing years. It seems just yesterday that I was a young girl, just married and embarking on my new life with my husband. And yet in a way, it seems like eons ago, and I wonder where all the years went.

I know that I lived them all ...

And I have glimpses of how it was back then and of all my hopes and dreams ...

But, here it is ... the winter of my life and it catches me by surprise ...

How did I get here so fast?

Where did the years go and where did my babies go?

And where did my youth go?

I remember well ... seeing older people through the years and thinking that those older people were years away from me and that winter was so far off that I could not fathom it or imagine fully what it would be like ...

But, here it is ... husband retired and he's really getting gray ... he moves slower and I see an older man now. He's in much better shape than me ... but, I see the great change ...

Not the one I married who was dark and young and strong ... but, like me, his age is beginning to show and we are now those older folks that we used to see and never thought we'd be.

Each day now, I find that just getting a shower is a real target for the day! And taking a nap is not a treat anymore ... it's mandatory!

Cause if I don't on my own free will ... I just fall asleep where I sit!

And so, now I enter into this new season of my life unprepared for all the aches and pains and the loss of strength and ability to go and do things. But, at least I know, that though the winter has come, and I'm not sure how long it will last ...

This I know, that when it's over ...

I will enjoy the Spring in the arms of my loving Father ... and wait for my loved ones to come when their winter is over, too.

So, if you're not in your winter yet ... let me remind you, that it will be here faster than you think.

So, whatever you would like to accomplish in your life please do it quickly! Our life is but a vapor, it vanishes away ...

So, do what you can today, because you can never be sure whether this is your winter or not! You have no promise that you will see all the seasons of your life ... so, live for today and say all the things that you want your loved ones to remember ...

"Life is God's gift to you. The way you live your life is your gift to God. Make it a fantastic one."

" LIVE IT WELL!!"

~author unknown~

I hope you enjoyed the story itself, and you see how stories can help you get the attention of your audience and take them on a little journey.

God Bless you -
Chip Tarver
“The B2B Relationship and Product Launch Pro”

http://www.FirstContactSecrets.com/
http://www.FirstContactSecrets.com/blog
http://www.FirstContactSecrets.com/publicity-blog/
http://www.Free-Targeted-Traffic.com/
http://www.NewHopeForAll.com
http://www.NewHopeDisasterCare.blogspot.com/
http://christianchurchmarketing.blogspot.com/
http://biblegateway.blogspot.com/

(c) 2005 - 2022 Chip Tarver and FCS

B2B Business Tips and B2B Techniques Blog
Chip Tarver's B2B Business to Business Articles
Public Relations Tips & different messages to reach different people. The message that compels a single Mom to come see you is not typically the same message that compels senior citizens or young marrieds. That might have worked 'back in the day' - but today there is far too much competition for people's attention for the same old message to be as effective as it once was.

(NO - I am NOT saying that the message of Jesus is ineffective. Jesus IS the Message. I'm saying that YOUR message is ineffective if you think all demographic populations respond to your same 'canned' message.)

So here's the one mistake a lot of churches make ... they treat people as groups - not individuals.

Unless you run a TV commercial - and you happen to catch a family watching TV together (which is pretty rare these days) - your message will typically not be shown to a 'group.

It will be most often shown to an individual.

We cannot use homogenized, stereotypical, religiosity messages and hope that some group of people will come though our doors marching hand-in-hand.

No ... remember that most of the time an individual sees your correspondence, ad, post card, TV commercial, or whatever.

Most individuals will not respond to a canned, corporate-style message, either. So you need someone in your Church who is willing to study the craft of copywriting.

Before you bow your back and say, "No," - ask yourself if it's results you're after ... or some imaginary tradition, status quo, or 'church growth model.' If you want different results than you've been getting, you'd better be willing to so something different than you've been doing.

And don't forget that the Word of God tells you to 'compel them to come' in Luke 14:

21 So that servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor and the maimed and the lame and the blind.’

22 And the servant said, ‘Master, it is done as you commanded, and still there is room.’ 23 Then the master said to the servant, ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

24 For I say to you that none of those men who were invited shall taste my supper.’” 25 Now great multitudes went with Him.

Is that your goal ... for great multitudes to go with Jesus?

No offense meant - but without proper copywriting skills, you'll be seriously challenged to compel anyone to do anything.

Give that some considerable thought. If you're serious about your efforts for the Kingdom, then be willing to do whatever it takes to get those results. Right now - according to the reports I hear - the Christian Church is growing at leaps and bounds.

Is your Church?

God Bless you –
Chip Tarver
“The B2B Relationship and Product Launch Pro”
<>< is The Way"
.

1 Corinthians 13:13 - "And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. "

First Corinthians was written to the citizens of Corinth, but offers us insight for today. Most of the churches today are interested in reaching the 'unchurched.' You'll also hear parts of this chapter used in marriage ceremonies from time to time, too ...

The best way to reach people is to show them real, tangible, unconditional love. For some insight into this idea, please read 1 Corinthians 13 (NKJV) below, and see if you agree ...

1 Corinthians 13 (NKJV)
1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.

4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. 11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. 13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

God Bless you –
Chip Tarver
“The B2B Relationship and Product Launch Pro”
<>< Christian Church Marketing includes many aspects ... one of which is being helpful to people. Why? Because you quickly get people's attention when you help them.

Typically, you get people's attention when you can save them time, save them money, help them be more healthy, happier, live longer, etc.

One pressing issue for church-goers and non-church-goers alike is the current price of gasoline - which has recently bounced all around the $3 per gallon price.

If you could help people cut their gasoline bill by 1/4 to 1/2 ... could you get people's attention?

If you're interested, below is an article I just wrote, titled "Regardless of the Current Gasoline Price -20 Easy Ways to Cut Your Gasoline Bill 25% to 50% (OR MORE) Right Now."

You are wecome to distribute it to your congregation or use it in other ways. Just please don't change it, and use the entire article, including the section at the very bottom.

Here it is:

Regardless of the Current Gasoline Price -20 Easy Ways to Cut
Your Gasoline Bill 25% to 50% (OR MORE) Right Now
By Chip Tarver

Yes – I know that headline might provoke you a little bit.

That’s OK.

This article will show you how to cut your gas bill right now –
TODAY – if you’ll simply pay attention to these tips and now
begin using them.

Of course, you’ll probably see a few tips you might have heard
before. Why?

Because they still work, always work, and are even more important
now that gas is approaching $3.00 a gallon (or more) in many places.

In fact, you might have at some point heard most of these tips
before now. The real issue is “Are you faithfully doing every one
of these?”

The average person is probably not doing 1/3 of them. Remember –
even though some of these have a direct associated cost savings –
how much ‘associated cost’ is filling your gas tank these days?

OK – let’s get started ... and these tips are in no particular order ...

1. Get your car tuned –
Sure – everyone tells you to do this. But have you done it? Poor tuning
wastes gas. This can improve your gas mileage by 10% or more.

2. Regularly check the air pressure in your tires –
Another one you’ve probably heard before. The fellow who sold me
my new tires told me that tires lose 2 or 3 pounds of air per month
by themselves. Low air pressure wastes gas. Look on the door in
your car for proper tire pressures, and keep it to the ‘high’ side of
the range you’re given. This can be another 10% savings.

3. Regularly change your oil –
Another one you’ve probably heard. Whatever your manufacturer
recommends, pay attention to it. Personally, I used to change my
car’s oil every 3,000 miles. Once I switched to synthetic oil, I was
told to increase the frequency between changes.

Also try to use synthetic oil. Rarely will your auto manufacturer say
not to use synthetic oil, but be sure you understand before you begin.
Synthetic oil costs more, but lasts longer, and reduces friction in
your engine better. You’ll treat your engine better while getting
higher gas mileage. In my car, now I go 6,000 miles between oil
changes instead of 3,000, and enjoy all the other benefits for
basically the same cost.

4. Carefully plan your errands –
This is one tip lots of people miss, and it ties into another tip below.
Basically, don’t run any errands that aren’t mandatory today. Put
them off till you need to do them.

Use the phone when you can, instead of driving somewhere. Avoid
high–traffic hours, days, and other times of congestion (see below.)
Add in errands when they are part of your regular daily commute to
and from work.

5. Try to avoid rush hour –
I’ll get some heat on this one. If your employer allows flex time,
investigate that. Otherwise, if it helps you to go to work 15 minutes
early and/or leave 15 minutes ‘later’ – do it, even if you don’t get
paid for the time.

Why?

You can either sit in traffic, get frustrated, use your gas for nothing,
and maybe even overheat your car ... or you can sit like a ‘dedicated
employee’ at work and be comfortable. This one can save you perhaps
25–50% of your gasoline by itself.

6. Always turn right when possible –
I hadn’t thought of this one before I read it somewhere. Consider
that when you turn left, you sit in the turn lane and wait for a break
in the traffic or the light to change. In many places you can turn
right on red, and you’re not turning ‘against’ the traffic when you
turn right. This tip takes some thought, but can make a significant
difference in time and gas savings.

7. Try to keep your car clean –
It’s more fun to drive when it’s clean, and removing all the caked
on dirt makes your car ‘slicker’ – which reduces drag by a little bit.
This tip is better for appearance than big gas savings.

8. Change all your car’s fluids –
Go to a local oil change place and tell them to change every fluid
in your car – not just your oil. This includes all engine fluids, radiator,
transmission, axle grease, etc.

9. Read popular car magazines for even more tips –
Most of the popular car magazines offer gas–saving tips these days.
Read the front covers and tables of contents to find the best articles
for you.

10. Try to drive downhill –
As silly as this sounds, when possible drive downhill instead of uphill
so gravity powers your car instead of gas. I tried it, and within reason
you can at times make this happen. A small tip, but a tip nonetheless.

11. Don’t race up to stop lights and turns –
I’m amazed every day as people who blaze past me just in time
to slam on their brakes at the red light up to which I’m coasting
or the turn I’m approaching. Why in the world would you speed
up to a place that requires a full stop? Baffles me ...

12. Don’t blast off the line –
Smart people say to act like there is an egg between your foot
and the gas pedal. Don’t race away from a stop, and don’t stomp
on the gas pedal except to avoid an emergency situation (only if
safety permits.)

13. No lead foot –
This goes with #12 above. In general, be easy on your gas pedal.
Use the least amount of pressure to attain and maintain your desired
speed. And try to keep a steady pressure instead pushing in, pulling
back, etc.

14. Time the red lights –
Pay attention to traffic lights from as far away as your eyes permit,
and try to adjust your approach speed so you get there when it’s
green and you don’t have to stop.

15. Don’t speed –
For all the reasons you already know, as well as for safety and gas
usage, don’t speed. Ever. Obey all the speed limits. In general, the
slower your speed, the less gas you use.

16. Don’t burn your clutch on hills –
Your clutch is not designed to be your brake. When you burn
your clutch on a hill, you trash your clutch and burn extra gas.
Also, don’t sit at red lights with your clutch pedal in, as that also
toasts your clutch, shortening its life.

17. Don’t block intersections –
This is mostly just decent manners, but you also create a traffic
jam for everyone, wasting everyone’s gas – not just yours.

18. Don’t drive 10 miles out of your way to save a
penny a gallon –
Think about this ... if your gas tank holds 12 gallons, is empty,
and you drive all over the place looking for the best deal on gas,
you save twelve cents if you find it for a penny cheaper per gallon.
It costs you more than that just to find the cheaper gas.

19. Stay in the right (slow) lane –
To keep the speeders off your tail – and keep yourself safer – stay
in the right (outer) lane on 4–lane roads so the speeders can have
the faster (left inside) lane.

20. Use your imagination –
If you’ll give these tips some thought – and put forth a little effort –
you’ll not only cut your gasoline bill by as much as half ... you’ll also
come up with your own ways to further reduce your costs to operate
your car.

These tips WILL reduce the amount of gas you burn. Period. The
rest is up to you. If you want it bad enough – it’s here for you, and
you’ll be able to discover other ways to save even more money once
you start paying attention to these tips.

================================================
Chip Tarver knows that you NEVER get a second chance to make a first
impression. To the 'unchurched' among us - the message is 'me.'

Where do these two messages intersect?

Your message to the unchurched has to address, "What's in it for me?" Whether you like it or not, that is the message they have in their heads.

So we have to do more than ... just set a "good example" so they want what we have. We have to phrase our message in a clear way that reaches and motivates them to look closer.

Are you doing that? Is your message really a Bible Gateway leading people to the Bible and to Jesus?

Or - are you using a bunch of (to them at this early point, meaningless) Scriptures? Yes - those Scriptures motivate you, but likely won't motivate your 'target market.'

Your challenge for today is to put yourself in the seat of the reader, listener, viewer ... and try to ascertain what they are looking for - not what YOU want to say. You have to learn what's in their heads before your message will be truly effective at breaking through to them ...

"Meet them where they are" is a wise premise to consider. That's what Jesus did.

To be an effective and efficient gateway to the Bible, the Bible has to be a gateway to your target market.

God Bless you –
Chip Tarver
“The B2B Relationship and Product Launch Pro”
<>< requires the same tools as any marketing.

One of the smartest things you can do right away is to begin to build a list of people to send your email messages to. You typically attach your autoresponder to a page on your website that people visit frequently.

You'll also want to have a way to send messages to these people once they are on your Christian Church Marketing email list.

The very best way to do this is through what's called an autoresponder. An autoresponder not only collects and saves names and email addresses - it also sends out messages to these people whenever you 're ready.

Send scheduled messages in whatever sequence you want them sent (sequential.) And you can send out special one-time messages (broadcasts.) Your autoresponder handles all of this for you behind the scenes with little or no intervention on your part.

Soon I'll show you the autoresponder I use. I like it. It's inexpensive, does NOT have a big monthly fee, and works great. - we are beginning this journey with some basics.

On purpose.

Yesterday - we talked about the fact that there is nothing more important than people. Not us and not buildings.

Today we mention a marketing concept called 'reach.' Typically, reach is just what is says, and at times the word 'penetration' is also used (or mis-used.) Diving into semantical differences here is not our goal, and neither is meaningess attention to perfect definitions or techno-speak.

So - today we'll define a working definition of 'reach' in a simple form as it applies to people ... "Which groups of people do you want to reach from your Church?"

To reach certain groups of people, you have to know both where to find them and how to get in front of them.

In future posts, we'll invest more time in specific ways to accomplish these basic parameters and goals we're setting out here at the begining.

So - right now - focus only on the people you want to reach, and where you think you can find them. Please record your thoughts in your Christian Church Marketing notebook.

God Bless you -
Chip Tarver

http://www.NewHopeForAll.com
http://www.DisasterCare.com
http://www.CoffeeHouseTheology.com

Christian Church Marketing - Post 2 - "People"

.
Christian Church Marketing - 2 - "People"
"It's All About People"

As we develop this blog for you, we'll deal with all sorts of topics ... all pertaining to Christian Church Marketing in the world of today ...

Some posts will necessarily be short, and others necessarily long. But there will NEVER be a word of hype here, and there will NEVER be a word of sage advice here that has not already been proven to work.

We will at all times seek to be led 100% by the Lord as we reveal specific aspects of Christian Church Marketing to you.

As with all issues, it is your reponsibility - if ever in doubt - to take any or all issues before the Lord to let Him confirm His Word to you.

With that said - today's post is summed up in one word - 'people.'

Whether you call them a congregation, parishoners, a flock of sheep - is not material here. When Jesus walked the earth - He was all about His people. And - remember - he shunned the religious folks who thought they had this whole thing all figured out nice and neat. He also shunned people who refused to obey ...

Jesus went to the people who really needed Him.

That is our call, too ... our mission ... and our vision. Is it yours?

So today - forget about yourself, forget about buildings, forget about the things that just don't matter. "The greatest among you is a servant of ALL" - so today let's be about doing the Lord's business - and use that verse as our guiding force and goal today.

Please record your thoughts in your Christian Church Marketing notebook.

God Bless You -
Chip Tarver

http://www.NewHopeForAll.com
http://www.DisasterCare.com
http://www.CoffeeHouseTheology.com

Christian Church Marketing - Post 1 - Introduction

.
Christian Church Marketing - 1 - Introduction
.

The Christian Church in America and around the world is experiencing unprecedented growth.
